ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Katie Moon, and I am a Biblical researcher, writer, and artist.

After a career as a professional illustrator, I "happened" into seminary (a story in itself!). After four and a half years of seminary study, I knew it was time to step aside from traditional Bible education (note: before I earned the degree) to blaze another learning trail. This new path was built upon research methods and models I adapted and advanced throughout thousands of research hours.

I officially founded my non-profit org, In Black and Light, in January 2017 (though the work began in 2013), where I conduct perpetual behind-the-scenes research, write, build online Bible courses, podcast, and am working to reach and equip as many as possible in Biblical literacy and their identity in the Christ Light.

I am married to Garrett, a fellow-designer and entrepreneur, and together we live the wild adventure of parenting three growing boys. Our family lives and works from Bismarck, ND.

“Jesus answered, 'Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.'“

John 11:9-10
